Strength training JUST for runners

  

Strength is an essential component for efficient movement, injury reduction and performance improvement, however many long term runners neglect this aspect of training and many trainer's are unsure of what a runner requires from a strength training program.

From personal experience and many hours of education this program focuses on several core issues specific to the art of running. During a run you are on one leg for a short time every time you stride so hip stability is essential for runners to maintain back health and reduce load shifting from poor biomechanics. Most runners have a predictable pattern of tightness and weakness which can addressed with myofascial self massage techniques and targeted exercise plans.

The Running Strong program assists runners to identify problem areas through postural assessment, movement pattern assessments and current history of injuries and 'niggles'. From this information a plan is developed to address these base problems first with the view to moving beyond these to more dynamic challenging exercises.

Coaching can be done in person on in a one on one session or online through email, Skye, phone and online video content.
